Unlike the classic water based or solvent based gap fillers, the wood surface does not require full sanding before and after the gap filler was used. It can be sanded (if required) and then stained, oiled, varnished or primed just like the surface itself. Bona Gap Master | Coloured Flexible Gap Filler | Where To Use It It can be successfully used to fill up gaps between floorboards, staircases, furniture, toys, handles, wall covers, etc. The new Bona Gap Master | Coloured Flexible Gap Filler is suitable for indoor use only. After the initial application, the product will fully dry within a few hours. Basically it is coloured silicone for all hardwood surfaces. Due to the large variety of colours available, the product will match all types of wood types or wood finishes. Bona Gap Master | Coloured Flexible Gap Filler | How To Use It To be able to start, you will need a silicone gun or a special silicone applicator and one sharp knife. Fit the new Bona Gap Master | Coloured Flexible Gap Filler in the gun, cut the plastic top, install the narrow top head and you are ready for filling up gaps. The small top head comes with a very small hole that can be made as big or as small as needed to fill inside the gaps. If you are not a professional maybe some masking tape should be used around the edges of the floorboards. Press the silicon gun trigger a few times until the gap filler comes through the narrow head. Overfill the gaps a bit and remove the excess with a painting scraper. The gap filler has to be flush with the floorboard. If you are happy with the results, move along. Do not use the area for about 2-4 hours until the gap filler has fully dried. Make sure to fill up the whole gap, not just the top.
