This product was designed to deal with very high traffic wooden floors, with wooden floors exposed to UV light, with wooden floors exposed to high pressure and wooden floors that require that bit extra. A top quality water based floor lacquer that is particularly good to use on floors used by pets. It does not glaze a lot so the pet cannot scratch it easily. It complies with all anti-slip regulations and is one of the most eco-friendly floor lacquers money can buy. If you are looking for a natural finish, then select the extra matt, if you are looking for a bit of sheen but not too much, then select the semi gloss finish and if you are after a super glossy finish, then select the gloss finish. The product is food certified so it is safe to use around food preparation and food serving areas. Chimiver Ecostar 2K Floor Lacquer | How To Use Mix up the lacquer with the hardener before applying it on the floor. Assess the floor surface and budget for about 10-12 sq meters of coverage per 1L. Exp: If you have 20 sq meters to lacquer in 2 coats, you will need to mix up about 4 L of lacquer. The first coat will cover around 10 sq meters but the second coat (because the absorption is reduced by the first coat) will cover up to 14 sq meters. Remember, any lacquer that was mixed up with the hardener and not used within 4 hours will harden up inside the bottle and it will be unusable. The wood surface has to be sanded, dust free and residue free. Apply the primer or the wood stain and allow 2 hours to dry. Then prepare for varnishing. You will need 1 brush, 1 roller & the handle and 1 tray or square bucket. Using the small brush apply a coat of lacquer all over the skirting boards and all areas where the varnishing roller does not fit. Use the varnishing roller to apply a nice even coat of floor lacquer all over the floor. Always work from the wall to the door. The door exit has to be in your back to prevent getting trapped. Do not roll the lacquer against the wood fiber. Always move along with the fiber of the wood. The first coat of lacquer should fully dry within 2 hours. Apply one more coat and the job is completed.
