Where To Use It The incredible Chimiver ECOWOOD 2K Invisible Floor Lacquer is a professional water based floor lacquer designed to seal and protect all kinds of unsealed hardwood surfaces. It can be successfully used to seal hardwood floors, engineered floors, wood furniture, frames, doors, skirting and any other type of wood surface in need of protection. While it does not alter the original look of the wood, this top quality product will provide high quality protection against day to day traffic and pet traffic. It can also be used to seal wall panels and ceiling wood covers. How To Use It This product is very easy to use and is nearly invisible to notice after it has dried. The lacquer is sold with a special hardener that has to be mixed up with the lacquer at a dilution rate of 1 to 10. If the lacquer is not mixed with the hardener, it cannot dry correctly so make sure to be aware of that. To achieve professional results hassle free, there are a few steps that have to be followed. Any wooden surface that has to be treated with the new Chimiver ECOWOOD 2K Invisible Floor Lacquer, has to be sealant free, dry and spotless. All pre-existing finishes should be fully sanded and the floor should be finished with 100 grit sanding paper before lacquering. A stain can be used to stain the surface. The stain should be fully dried before the first coat of floor lacquer is applied. The entire floor should be vacuumed well with a top quality floor tool and a small dusting brush should be attached to the vacuum head to vacuum the gaps and all narrow corners Mix up the lacquer with the hardener about 20 minutes before the application. Estimated coverage area of about 10 sq meters per 1L. If you have 20 sq meters of floor, mix up 2L of floor lacquer for the first coat. Using a small varnishing brush, apply the lacquer around the edges, around the skirting boards and around all the areas where the varnishing roller cannot fit. The surface has to look wet but not soaked. Use a good quality varnishing roller to varnish the floor. Move along with the fiber of the wood and not against it. Allow it to dry for 1-2 hours and then do a very light sanding around the edges and whatever areas feel rough. Use 150-200 grit sanding paper. You want to level up the imperfections without removing the lacquer. Vacuum well one more time and apply the second coat. Allow it to dry for 2-4 hours and the job is done. A third coat can be done but is not necessary. Our Recommendations Buy enough floor lacquer to cover the entire floor. Do not soak the floor in lacquer. Make sure to mix up the hardener with the lacquer before applying the composition to the floor. You have a window of about 2-4 hours to use the mixture. After that period of time, the unused mixture will dry inside the bottle. Wash all your tools in clean water before it hardens up. Do not use this product as an overcoat.
