Most people do not read the fine writing when purchasing a floor lacquer and they usually end up with a low quality floor lacquer that fails to last or protect the wooden floors. The new Tover Maxima Polyurethane Floor Lacquer is the most advanced water based floor lacquer manufactured by Tover. The product was designed for all those intense traffic floors where there is a lot of dragging, pulling, cleaning, high heel usage, pets and other types of use and abuse. This product is a market leader for durability, aesthetics and cost effectiveness. Where To Use A highly versatile water based floor lacquer that can be used on pretty much any type of unsealed, new or sanded wooden surface. The incredible Tover Maxima Polyurethane Floor Lacquer can be successfully used to seal all types of engineered and semi solid wood floors, all types of hardwood floors, real wood furniture, doors, frames, toys, worktops, wood panels and other surfaces. The product is suitable for indoor use only. How To Use The professional Tover Maxima Polyurethane Floor Lacquer is sold in a 5L bottle plus 0.5L hardener. The lacquer has to be mixed up with the hardener before using it. The ideal way of applying the new incredible Tover Maxima Polyurethane Floor Lacquer is with a top quality varnishing roller for the open spaces and a good quality varnishing brush for all the narrow areas where the varnishing roller cannot fit. The wood surface has to be sealant free, dry and residue free before it can get lacquered. Apply the wood stains or the floor primers in good time and only apply the new Tover Maxima Polyurethane Floor Lacquer when the sealers or the stains have fully dried. Mix up the lacquer with the hardener and allow it to bond for about 10 minutes before applying the composition to the floor. Use the brush to apply the lacquer around the edges and all narrow spaces and then use the varnishing roller to apply it on the open space areas. Move along with the fibre of the wood not against it. Allow the surface to dry before walking on it. Now check all the corners and the edges. If the surface feels rough, sand it lightly with 150-220 grit sanding paper until the roughness is removed. Sand up moving with the fiber of the wood and not against it. Vacuum the entire area a number of times, open the windows to ventilate and then apply the second coat. More coats are possible but not necessary. Recommendations While this incredible two pack water based floor lacquer can be used to overcoat pre-existing finishes, the surface should be screened with 80-100 grit discs to create some abrasion so the lacquer can attach to it. Do not use the lacquer without the hardener. Do not apply more than 3 coats. Do not apply the floor lacquer in direct sunlight or on floors where there is underfloor heating on. Do not walk on the surface while drying. Make sure that you have enough floor lacquer to cover the entire floor. Maintenance The myth that the water based floor lacquers are not as durable as the old solvent based floor lacquers is just a myth. The only difference between the solvent and water based floor lacquers is the daily maintenance. To maximise the life expectancy of your newly refinished hardwood floors please use proper hardwood floor cleaners like Tover Pulito and use as little water as possible. From time to time use a refresher to restore the protection.
